The Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati helps make the justice system fair and accessible to all, especially vulnerable people in our society, by providing free, comprehensive, and civil legal aid. They solve serious legal problems for low-income people, promote economic and family stability and reduce poverty through effective legal assistance.

We help low-income families and individuals by providing them with free and comprehensive civilian assistance to overcome various major obstacles. For example, we help prevent evictions and seizures, combat domestic violence and divorce, improve unsafe and unhealthy living conditions, receive Medicaid and other health and income benefits, overcome barriers to employment, or solve school problems. Our approach is twofold: helping individuals solve problems on a case-by-case basis and using legal advocacy to improve systems, often through the formation of service and advocacy projects in collaboration with other human service organizations. Legal Aid also provides the leadership needed to coordinate our services with other government and not-for-profit organizations, develop innovative programs and introduce legal education to the community. Legal aid ensures access to the justice system for all, not just those who can afford to pay. Our mission is to solve the serious legal problems of low-income people, promote economic and family stability and reduce poverty through effective legal assistance. We offer free and comprehensive civil law support to overcome a wide range of major social and legal barriers. For example, we help prevent homelessness, free ourselves from family violence, provide access to health and income services, and overcome barriers to employment.
