Augusta University Office of Legal Affairs

Augusta University`s legal office advises on a variety of topics, including contracts, labor and discretionary matters, inventions, copyright and other intellectual property rights, and risk management. In addition to providing legal advice to the University, other areas of responsibility of the Legal Department include the interpretation and advice of guidelines, the administration of the University`s complaint and dispute resolution procedures, the review of contracts and, in cooperation with the Attorney General, the management of actual or imminent legal disputes in which the University is involved. The Office of Legal Affairs is also available to offer training and information programs on legal issues that apply to University units. The approval process and management system of the Policy Advisory Group (PAG) is Augusta University`s policy policy. The PAG, under the direction of the OLA, consists of people from across the university to ensure representation and input from a variety of perspectives, including academic affairs, finance, human resources, student affairs, faculty senate, and institutions, among others. To report incidents of sexual harassment or retaliation, faculty members should contact the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs. classified personnel may contact the EEO/AA representative or the Human Resources Department; and students may contact the Vice-President of Student Affairs or the Director of Student Affairs.

They receive complaints of sexual harassment from members of the Augusta University community, explain Augusta University`s procedures, and can refer people to appropriate resources.
